Ok, I’ll try to make this short and sweet.
Thursday night Sammy, M.Lo, and “N” came over to help me pack. We had a lot of fun. It was the first time Sam had met M.Lo and the first time M.Lo had met “N”. Everyone got along fine and we got a ton of packing done.
Friday I took off from work and got some more packing done. Mom and my little brother came up and helped me pack. They did the kitchen and my CD’s while I did the bedroom and the bathroom.
We finished around noon-ish, then went to lunch at Cozy Mel’s. After lunch I took my mother to Sephora to get some make-up tips. She didn’t like the way she turned out in some recent pictures. Makeup lady hooked her up with some samples from Chanel.
We made plans to go shopping for a dress for my brother’s wedding in May, and then to get her another makeover before the wedding. They left after that and I moved some boxes into my new place.
I just wanted to move some things that I didn’t feel like packing up, and all of my clothes. It’s a pain moving up three flights of stairs!
Later “N” came over and we went to pick up Sammy for dinner and to head out to Charlie’s. We got to Charlie’s kind of early, so it was pretty lame for a while. Soon we were out on the floor shaking our booties and having a good time.
We ended up leaving Charlie’s kind of early because it started snowing really hard. People in Austin get all kinds of crazy just over rain, you don’t want to see how dumb they get about snow.
So I drove Sammy home, then headed home. The main road to my house (Mopac) was closed, so I had to take all kinds of crazy detours home. The snow was building up pretty quick on the roads, so you could feel the tires slushing through, but it wasn’t slippery at all.
It was so nice to see the snow coming down as I drove home. They were big juice snowflakes, the kind we don’t normally see here. I took a few pictures when we got back to my place.
Saturday “N” helped me pack some more while we waited for the mover. They were supposed to be over at noon, but ended up running late because of the snow. They didn’t come until 3pm. “N” and I were long done packing by then, and we were so tired.
So what did we do? We layed on the floor and napped for two hours. It was kind of uncomfortable, but we were tired and we didn’t care.
The movers showed up at 3, and they were really nice, chatty, and friendly. I would highly recommend them to anyone. TWO GUYS MOVING. They got me all loaded up really quick, like in about 45 minutes. The unloading was not so quick. The whole move took 3.25 hours, and cost me $269. Isn’t that a great deal?
So I spent all afternoon Saturday, and all day Sunday unpacking and setting things up. I even already had visitors. Chad and Rupert came to see me on Saturday while the movers were moving me in. Sam came to see me Sunday, and so did Kristi.
I’m almost done moving stuff around. Everything is already unpacked and put up, I’m just not thrilled with where everything is. I also need to move some stuff down to my garage that I don’t want in my apartment.
I love my new place. It’s so big, spacious, and beautiful! I’ll take pics when it’s done and post them.
